sportsNov 1, 202626430

The Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in Game 7 to win the 2026 WNBA Championship. Gabby Williams led Golden State with a 30-point performance and was named Finals MVP. The title completes the Valkyries’ run in just their second season, fulfilling and exceeding the owner’s original five-year promise and making them the fastest expansion team to win a North American pro sports title in the Super Bowl era. Natalie Nakase coached the Valkyries to the championship, and reports note a victory parade in San Francisco is planned for next week. The game was sealed at Chase Center on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, capping a 1,122-day, 103-game arc since the franchise’s founding, according to team accounts.

The Golden State Valkyries, where the only thing straight is the priorities

"I'm not going to say it's not repeatable, because people probably could've said it wouldn't be possible to begin withi Valkyries point guard Veronica Burton said. "The priorities have to be in the right place. And I think the culture here is incredible, and it's rare, and it's not necessarily something you can easily create. But when you're intentional about it, and your priorities are straight, it is definitely possible."

I’m probably super weird for thinking this way, but it always makes me happy to see a series go to the max number of games because it helps the local economy so much
