Mariah Carey posts 'It's Time' at midnight, kicks off Christmas season

musicNov 1, 202630254

Mariah Carey posted a video titled "It's Time" at midnight on November 1, continuing her annual November 1 tradition. The clip opens with the caption "New York City... 31st October," shows a countdown beginning at 11:58 PM, and pans into a dive bar punk-rock scene where Carey performs in a colorful outfit. The video cuts to black as the countdown hits midnight, then returns to Carey singing "It's about time" before shifting into a holiday scene in which she sings "All I Want for Christmas Is You" atop a giant Christmas tree. The article notes the song was first released in 1994 on her album Merry Christmas and says it routinely re-enters the Billboard charts each holiday season. The piece also states the single spent 22 non-consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and adds that earlier this year it was briefly derailed by Ella Langley and "Choosin' Texas."

Right on time for the european crowds (where we don't do Thanksgiving). (What's the first song?)

Honestly, I love her commitment to this bit every single year. Her mind is also an insane place.

NO WHEN DID CHRISTMAS START AFTER HALLOWEEN RATHER THAN THANKSGIVING THIS IS EXTREME BULLSHIT

We as a nation don’t give enough respect to Thanksgiving and gravy.

I wish that rock album she made could drop. Thus begins her $3M season.

Three things in this life are certain: death, taxes, and Mariah Carey telling us it’s time at 12:00am on the dot on November 1! 😌😂

🌙 just felt mariah carey starting to break out of the ice with the same amount of dread that dragon ball side characters feel when they sense the big bad's energy getting closer

Christmas belongs to Mariah Carey. Halloween belongs to Heidi Klum

It's November 1st, which means Mariah Carey has broken free from her icy containment. That ALSO means that it's time for your yearly reminder that Nick Cannon still has the absolutely greatest fumble of all time in not being with her anymore.
