Rep. Thomas Massie to force a House vote on releasing Epstein files

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) says he has gathered enough signatures to force a House floor vote next week on his second Epstein Files Transparency Act. Massie told reporters he expects to reach the 218-vote threshold that would guarantee a vote and said the bill would let survivors obtain their records, allow state attorneys general to prosecute crimes, and give courts a path to challenge the Justice Department for withholding files. Massie framed the move as a follow-up to an earlier bill and said he would press the forced vote when lawmakers return next week. The push sets up a near-term procedural test in the House over whether to release the contested Epstein files, either in full or with redactions allowed under the legislation.
