The multi-author anatomical study charts previously unrecognized branches and connections that run through pelvic tissues. The map gives surgeons precise guidance to avoid nerve damage, aiming to reduce postoperative sexual dysfunction and other complications. The work comes almost 30 years after researchers mapped penile nerves, highlighting a long-standing gap in female-focused anatomical research.
