Alpha Research exit polls showed Progressive Bulgaria, led by pro-Russian former president Rumen Radev, won 37.5% of the vote in Sunday’s parliamentary election. Main rival GERB-SDS took 16.2% and the liberal PP-DB coalition got 14.3%, leaving a large margin between Radev and established parties. Progressive Bulgaria fell short of the 121-seat parliamentary majority, so Rumen Radev must form coalition partners after Bulgaria’s eighth national vote in five years to govern.
