Justice Department says it will not release more Epstein files

journalismApr 15, 2026444,039

The Justice Department announced it will not release any further Jeffrey Epstein, related files, and Attorney General Todd Blanche said the files should not be part of the department's work going forward. Among documents already unsealed is an emailed allegation that named Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and was sent to two federal judges last August. Vice President J.D. Vance defended President Donald Trump at a Turning Point USA event, saying there is "no evidence of misconduct" in the Epstein material related to Trump. The decision leaves congressional requests and state inquiries without additional DOJ documents to review, narrowing avenues for new public disclosure or oversight.
