Red Flag Warnings issued across US counties for Apr 19-20

The National Weather Service offices DDC, JAX, RIW and UNR issued Red Flag Warnings covering counties in Kansas, Georgia, Wyoming and parts of the Dakotas for April 19 and April 20, 2026. The DDC warning updated at 17:15 UTC April 19 to expand coverage to Comanche, Edwards, Hamilton, Kearny, Kiowa, Lane, Ness, Pawnee, Rush and Scott counties while continuing in Clark, Finney, Ford, Grant and Gray counties. JAX continues a Red Flag Warning for Atkinson, Coffee and Jeff Davis counties until April 19 at 8:00 PM EDT, RIW’s warning for the Granite, Green, Ferris and Rattlesnake Mountains and Natrona County/ Casper BLM runs until April 20 at 8:00 PM MDT, and UNR’s warning covers Badlands, Bennett, Custer, Fall River, Mellette, Todd and Pine Ridge areas through April 20 at 11:00 AM MDT. These warnings indicate elevated wildfire risk, so residents and land managers should expect burn bans and avoid outdoor burning during the listed windows.
