Desmond Morris dies aged 98

Desmond Morris, the British zoologist and author of The Naked Ape, died on April 19, 2026; he was born January 24, 1928. His 1967 book The Naked Ape sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and argued that modern humans remain fundamentally ape-like. Morris also worked as a broadcaster and exhibited surrealist paintings internationally, showing work alongside artists such as Joan Miró.
