President Donald Trump posted a security camera clip and a photo of the suspected White House Correspondents' Dinner shooter while holding a White House briefing after being evacuated from the event. Federal officials, including Trump, were safe and authorities had the suspect in custody; Trump wrote that the "shooter has been apprehended" and urged that the "LET THE SHOW GO ON." Posting raw surveillance footage and a suspect image during an active investigation compromises evidence handling, operational security, and privacy and risks influencing legal proceedings and public perceptions.
I’m increasingly coming around to the view that the guy who attacked Trump / WHCD last night was mostly [albeit not entirely] trying to commit suicide-by-cop. (rushing the Secret Service with a bunch of weapons???)
