GTFO ICE launches rapid‑response network to block new ICE facilities

politicsApr 27, 202643356

GTFO ICE launched a rapid-response network at GTFOICE.org that sends alerts and provides a playbook so communities can block planned Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers before they open. The coalition says ICE is rapidly expanding its detention network and the site offers real-time notifications, local organizing tools, and step-by-step tactics for early intervention. Organizers have already cited the tool in fights including Romulus, Michigan near Detroit Metro Airport, and Representative Adelita Grijalva criticized a Mesa facility as 'tiny' and unable to house 600 people. If neighborhoods use the alerts and playbook to stop new sitings, GTFO ICE could limit new detention capacity nationwide and shift local political and land-use decisions around immigration enforcement.
