CBS California Governor's Debate at Pomona College
CBS hosted a live California gubernatorial debate at Pomona College, beginning at 5:30 p.m. PDT, featuring Tom Steyer, Xavier Becerra, Steve Hilton, Chad Bianco and Katie Porter. Moderators pressed candidates on health care and other policy differences, and Becerra and Hilton traded sharp exchanges that included references to Hilton's Hungarian roots. A CBS/YouGov poll from April 23-27 showed 18% undecided with Hilton at 16%, Steyer 15%, Becerra 13%, Bianco 10% and Porter 9%. With a large undecided bloc and a fragmented field, debate performances at Pomona could shift late voters and fundraising momentum before the primary.
🚨 Watch the CBS California governor debate tonight. And remember: California has a jungle primary. Top 2 advance, regardless of party. With the field this split, two Republicans on the general ballot is a huge risk. 8 candidates take the stage tonight. Here’s a recap of the top 5.
How to watch tonight… www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/n...
No need, voting for Becerra, love qualified and no drama, would love to take a vacay from politics and trust someone to govern with the people's best interest, Becerra checks those boxes.
Steyer is a hard NO for me. I've been trying to decide between Porter and Becerra. I'll definitely be watching the debate tonight.
Omg...these extraneous Dems are risking California. I wonder if it's arrogance or if it's intentional 🤔
Some Dems need to drop out after this. Crazy! You are not doing California any favors unless that is your goal to elect a Republican Governor. After this, the state might need to reform this idea of top two. Perhaps top 3 with rank election?
once an Oath Keeper always an Oath Keeper (like the mob, except for hillbillies)
Why is this even airing on Corrupt Ellison's CBS?... I refuse to watch this network any longer except for Colbert who will soon be gone‼️
I refuse to watch CBS for any reason.
I lived in California for almost 10 years. I'm not sure how elections turned into such a clown show after I moved to Washington State.
Good recap if not extremely biased in favor of Becerra lmao
Sorry i don’t watch cbs
I’ll catch it later on YouTube, just like I do when watching The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, bc I won’t give CBS my ratings.
Interesting to hear more about California's primary system tonight. 🤔
After this debate we should hopefully see a few of the Dems drop out.
Someone needs to tell the algorithm that I am not voting for Katie Porter for California governor. Now for debate #2.
I should add that my major issue with Porter is that she said the 2024 primary for the senate was “rigged.” I have no tolerance for people who can’t lose with dignity.
Also, the Republican candidates don’t seem to get that being pro Trump, who is underwater in the polls, will not help their candidacies. Not that I would vote Republican anyway…
