Senedd TV debate spotlights Reform UK as Welsh election looms

In a BBC Wales televised debate less than two weeks before the Senedd election, Wales' six main party leaders squared off and the Reform UK Welsh leader insisted "Reform is not racist." A Survation poll published ahead of the vote puts Reform on 30 percent and Plaid Cymru on 28 percent, with Labour at 15 percent, Conservatives and Greens at 10 percent each, and Liberal Democrats at 4 percent. Poll-based projections translate those shares into roughly 38 seats for Reform and 31 for Plaid, a shift that could displace Plaid as the principal challenger and reshape the Senedd's balance on devolution and public services.
