NASA’s Artemis II capsule returns to launch site after lunar flight

scienceApr 30, 202615110

NASA’s Artemis II capsule returned to Kennedy Space Center on Tuesday, almost a month after launching four astronauts on the first crewed lunar mission in more than 50 years. The crew completed an April 1 to 10, 2026 lunar flyby that carried them farther into space than any humans have traveled and captured photos and audio, including views of the Moon’s far side. NASA released mission imagery and tracking data to the public, validating Artemis systems and clearing a technical step toward future crewed lunar landings.
