Munetaka Murakami homered for the Chicago White Sox, his 15th of the season, tying Aaron Judge for the MLB home run lead. The first-inning shot came off Emerson Hancock, traveled 380 feet with a 106.2 mph exit velocity and gave the White Sox a 1-0 lead. Murakami has homered in the opener of each of the last eight series, the first player in MLB history to do so, and his 15 homers through 38 career games rank among the fastest starts in modern MLB history.
