TCM Party screens Double Indemnity

TCM added Double Indemnity (1944), directed by Billy Wilder and starring Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck and Edward G. Robinson, to its Summer of Darkness evening noir slate. The Summer of Darkness runs Fridays June 5, 12 and 26 with nine films; Double Indemnity is scheduled in the evening block and is listed at 7:00 PM PT with a runtime of 1 hour 47 minutes. As a canonical film noir adapted from James M. Cain with John Seitz's shadow-rich cinematography and razor-sharp dialogue, Double Indemnity exemplifies the genre's moral complexity and makes a strong centerpiece for the curated lineup.
