Graham Platner wins Maine Democratic Senate primary
Graham Platner's behavior towards women is disqualifying. by Donald Trump
Donald Trump sexts women the right way. - Ezra Klein
Graham Platner's white supremacist tattoo and egregious behavior towards women is unbecoming of a US military Veteran. by Pete Hesgeth
Everybody has learned their lesson except Graham Platner. by Susan Collins
For those members of the Bluesky mob still bashing Platner: A Black woman who has devoted her career to racial justice (and who actually lives in Maine... in other words who has a far better perspective on Platner than most) wrote an excellent discussion of him. blackgirlinmaine.com/commentary/a...
Graham Platner’s behavior towards women is disqualifying as should Donald Trump’s
Concurrence by Pete Hegseth, Matt Gaetz, Scott Desjarlais, Brett Kavanaugh, Ken Paxton, Clarence Thomas, Howard Lutnick, Ted Nugent, Dana White, Steve Wynn, and Newt Gingrich
Trump calls him a thug because he probably can't remember Platner's name
"There are so many Nazis in the Republican party that the Democrats are entitled to a few of their own."
yeah; if you want to ever get out of our fascist doom loop, you kind of need to vote for the guy who had a nazi tattoo, unfortunately. I think we can and should also call for Platner to resign. Maine D party can pick a different candidate for a few weeks at least. www.yahoo.com/news/politic...
That seems awful and anti-democratic.
and effectively nullify hundreds of thousands of Maine democrats' vote choice? that sounds... less than ideal. to put it mildly.
Hard to see him selflessly putting the good of the party (in fact, the nation) over his own advancement, but we can dream
Elect enough dems and he becomes irrelevant. No more Sinemas.
The one saving grace here is that, in a worst case scenario, we trade the geriatric old fascist for the philandering young fascist.
I still wouldn't vote for him. No Nazis means what it means and it always means it.
If Maines D party has a strong progressive candidate that would be one thing, but realistically the person theyd replace with would be a feckless shill for the party. As undesirable as he might feel, hes clearly grown a lot and is willing to acknowledge and grow from his mistakes and has good policy
My moderate centrist take is that if you are left of center and live in Maine you should vote for Graham Platner and be ashamed until death you voted for Graham Platner
I also think you should shut up about it and probably best for you to log off until he loses and/or resigns in shame
I'd frankly respect a lot of people more if they were willing to be frank about it being a devils bargin.
"thanks i hate it" but for voting.
"As we look toward November, we are excited to flip this Senate seat, oust Sen. Susan Collins, and help Graham Platner bring meaningful representation to Maine."
I’m not thrilled with the character & morals of this man but, luckily, I’m not a Maine voter & didn’t have to grapple with myself over the primary choice. With that being said, Collins needs to GO!
I appreciate what you and Indivisible do. I truly believe the cause is just and you are a warrior. I worry about using hyperbole statements to achieve your goal. Sure a landslide when the other name on the ballot backed out of the race a month or so ago. Let’s not get got up in gaslighting.
I was telling my fiancé the other day how fucking nuts this entire thing is Graham Platner was a NOBODY in May of last year. now, the Dem nominee for Senate in Maine, by a LOT
it's a political earthquake and everybody's acting like it's normal the sitting governor had to drop out because of a lack of money
Yeah, he had money and some connections, but the *sitting governor* didn't even make it to the primary.
Just so you know, he wasn't a total nobody. He's been a progressive activist in downeast Maine for several years and he's well-known & respected for his work in those activist & union circles. But not natonally known like Collins, certainly.
Graham Platner easily wins Maine Democratic primary election for US Senate seat. "Platner won 72% of the vote, defeating... Gov. Janet Mills, who suspended her campaign in April but remained on the ballot, and... David Costello, based on early results..." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
How desperate voters must be for change, and how much they must distrust centrist Democrats, to elect this guy. - lied about SS tattoo - lied about VA home loan - said he would have volunteered to fight in previous US imperialist wars - fought in occupied Iraq & Afghanistan, and then as a mercenary
According to Platner’s Wikipedia article, he enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from high school, likely in May 2003. The US invasion of Iraq occurred on March 20, 2003, so Platner apparently enlisted AFTER the Iraq war had already begun, meaning he opted to participate in that conflict.
