Man charged with attempted murder after Belfast stabbing left victim blind in one eye

Hadi Alodid, 30, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court charged with the attempted murder of Stephen Ogilvie after a stabbing in north Belfast that left Ogilvie blind in his left eye. Prosecutors also charged Alodid with making threats to kill an NHS radiographer and with possession, and the court remanded him in custody for four weeks. Ogilvie works as an NHS radiographer and suffered permanent loss of his left eye, a severe injury that will be central to the forthcoming criminal proceedings and public safety concerns.
