Former Olympian David Hearn arrested at Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
David Hearn, 67, a three-time Olympic canoe slalom competitor, was arrested at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool after reaching in to touch a detached blue liner or paint sealant. U.S. Park Police took Hearn into custody on accusations of vandalizing federal property, and Hearn said he "didn't destroy or break or peel anything" while denying wrongdoing. The Reflecting Pool recently underwent renovations and President Trump has accused vandals of sabotaging the basin, making Hearn's arrest part of a broader enforcement effort around peeling paint and sealant at a national monument.
