Brady Tkachuk traded to Florida Panthers
Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk was traded to the Florida Panthers, reuniting him with his brother Matthew Tkachuk. Ottawa received the ninth overall and 25th overall picks in the 2026 NHL Draft, a 2029 first-round pick, and a 2030 second-round pick in return. Tkachuk, an eight-year NHL veteran with two 70-plus point seasons, gives Florida a physical top-six winger and power-play presence. The deal accelerates Florida's win-now push while converting Ottawa's current franchise leader into long-term draft capital and roster flexibility.
Brady Tkachuk, apparently in the process of being traded to Florida for three firsts and a second, is a great creator of offence, especially at 5v5; does not score, is an enormous idiot.
Some day I will have a way to sensibly measure the value of a player as a function of time from now to whenever, and then I could start to evaluate trades quantitatively. Better for this team at these times, for this team at those times; this much all up. Would be nice.
i prefer the term "Tkachucklefuck"
Thanks for listing that intangible at the end
They’re gonna put both brothers on the same team? Jesuschrist imma become such a hater right now
The last part is the key word here
"enormous idiot" is somehow an understatement
“Three firsts” followed by anything other than “just kidding!” has me falling out of my chair. Really?!
His PieceOfShit/60 is off the charts
Jakub Dobes (1) had more playoff points for the Habs than Brady Tkachuk (0) in his final playoff run for the Sens
This is my favourite stat from these playoffs
They call Brady 007 0 goals 0 assists 7 bad jokes about Ullmark's mental health on his daddy's podcast
A great deal for Ottawa and I’m still a little surprised by this inter-division trade. Glad he’s not coming to NJ!
To trade away one of your two best players — your captain, no less — and not get a single NHL player in return when you just emerged from damn near a decade of rebuilding is a massive kick in the teeth for Ottawa and its fans. The Brady Tkachuk trade to Florida is just brutal for the Sens.
As a fan, honestly: 1) let’s see what Staios does in the next two months with these new picks, 2) a lot of the fan base soured on Tkachuk since his conspicuous MAGA turn, 3) he’s arguably less valuable than Stützle and Sanderson, and maybe even a healthy Ullmark, and 4) it’s still hard to take in.
Counterpoint: 3 Firsts for a locker room cancer and over rated player is pretty good.
Yes yes, it is Ottawa's fault that Brady is a little piss baby who can't handle being a top guy and so has to force his way onto a team where he can be the 4th best player and play golf every day and where the fans don't care.
That's one take... I guess. But removing cancer is rarely painless.
I agree with this but also Brady Tkachuk is a loser. I'm not sure you want to keep him around on a Canadian team. The return is baffling though.
I will take restocking the bare draft cupboard over over keeping "Playoff Brady" who played like he was in a rush to get out of town so he could throw on a USA jersey and do podcasts with his brother.
TRADE ALERT: The #Sens have acquired the ninth overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, the 25th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, a 2027 second round pick, and a 2029 conditional first-round pick from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Brady Tkachuk.
admin... you're safe here ❤️
Be safe sens admin 🤝
Hopefully the picks can be flipped into a couple of top six wingers. Brady was good, but the league is full of good players. We need a couple of goal scorers who want to play in Canada.
Love this for you and us Go Sens Go
Can I get a nameplate change would take a Cunneyworth
WOW MAGA wasn't worth much ... bye bye
Oh Boy- I was just thinking I couldn’t dislike the Panthers more than I do but here we are and now I can. Tried to stick up for the guy while he was playing with the #Sens . Not like he loved playing here anyways . My guess not too may fans sad to see him go.
Good riddance … Sens might regress a bit but happy to see Brady gone from the Senators. thescore.com/nhl/news/355...
Good riddance to him. Congrats to the Panthers on becoming this next seasons leader in taking stupid penalties by two of the leagues biggest clowns.
Happy to see him out of Canada 🇨🇦
Especially after his appearance at Trump's birthday party / the U.S. 250 event and his multiple Insta posts about it. I'd like to think my replies to his posts were an apt send off to his Trump loving moron.
Sens fan here, won't miss him. They did alright when he was injured last season.
His landing spot is the least surprising thing ever. Maga tkachuk will love floriDUH.
Cannot stand this guy nor his brother. Their egos far outweigh their talent ... I don't care what anyone says.
66 points per 82 GP, almost 30% of his goals on the power play for $8.2M. Sens now have over $25M in cap space and one major headache removed
I just posted about this. I couldn't be happier. One of the most unlikeable players in the NHL. I can start watching Sens games again.
Per The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun, Brady Tkachuk could be headed to the Florida Panthers. The potential move would unite him with his brother, Matthew.
Those 3 1st round picks scored as many playoff points in 2026 as Brady
All the Yanks don’t want to play in Canada anymore since they aren’t treated like princes.
Wow, never saw this coming. You mean he wants to play with his brother? We all knew this was gonna happen sooner or later. Ottawa should ask for Barkov or not do the trade.
if you listened to the puck soup podcast in recent months, i have been adamant that "brady tkachuk to the panthers" was a mortal lock for months. that's a classic #HowDoesHeDoIt
also thinking about how florida now has an extra top-six forward on the roster, about $7m in cap space, and a roster spot to fill at no. 1 goalie...
Here’s my prediction, that 25th overall pick ends up with the Canucks somehow (DeBrusk?) and they take the Ruck twins at 24 and 25
