UK survey finds two‑thirds back higher digital services tax on big tech

newsJun 22, 20266219

A Fair Tax Foundation survey of UK adults found 67% support raising the current 2% digital services tax on multinationals such as Meta, Google and Amazon. The study also found 75% of respondents would prefer to shop with or work for firms that can prove they pay their fair share of tax. Strong public backing could strengthen political momentum to raise levies, boost Treasury revenues and increase pressure on big tech to change profit-reporting and tax structures.
