Missile strike hits Voronezh semiconductor plant
Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile strike on the Voronezh Semiconductor Devices Plant (VZPP-S) in Voronezh, Russia, hitting the facility and triggering fires. Ukrainian intelligence says the plant assembles microelectronic and semiconductor components used in Russian air-defense and missile systems, naming S-300, S-400, Pantsir, Iskander and cruise missiles. Footage and local reports show fires burning at multiple points inside the factory and audible blasts across the city. The strike targets Russia’s defense-industrial base and could disrupt production of missile and air-defense components, signaling Ukraine’s effort to hit domestic military supply chains.
According to reports, at least 9 missiles flew toward Voronezh. The strike hit a plant that manufactures Pantsir systems, as well as components for Iskander-K and Kh-101 missiles.
Wondering if RU can produce elsewhere those components for Kh-101 and Iskander-K (UVK-208 and Zarya-61M guidance computer). Because I absolutely dont think these missiles can be used in any way without these components. Kh-101 is most crucial cruise missile in RU arsenal, launched from bombers.
Huge thank you to ruskis for providing good damage assesment!
This is HUGE!!! 🇺🇦😳🇪🇺 Well done!!! 🇺🇦💪🇪🇺 bsky.app/profile/spec...
Russia could stop this at any time. But russia is like a man who stuffed his hand in a meat grinder and refuses to pull it out.
More details have emerged regarding the struck and now burning factory in Voronezh, Russia. The Semiconductor Devices Plant produces parts for air defense, ballistic and cruise missiles, so basically the only products Russia is currently manufacturing. Devastating for them.
Components for X-101 and Iskander-K cruise missiles and some components in 72V6 Pantsir-S1 vehicle I think majority of missile components are all foreign, but this is some of the rare locally produced ones.
Looks like more than one hit. Nice.
Just the water-damage from putting out the fire will be significant 😀
More footage from Voronezh. The VZPP-S semiconductor plant was hit on at least two separate places and is now burning. #Russia
Great target. Hopefully that will affect Russian drone construction quite a bit. (China will still sell though)Maybe Russia needs to get back to radio tubes? 😄
If they breached the clean room of a semiconductor manufacturing plant it means it will be offline for a (very) long time.
