Lions release CB Terrion Arnold after court hearing

sportsJun 29, 202619573

A Florida judge set a $1 million bond Monday for Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold after finding probable cause at a pretrial detention hearing in a case accusing him of orchestrating kidnappings and armed robberies. Prosecutors charged Arnold with multiple felonies, including four counts each of kidnapping and assault and armed robbery; the judge ordered that he cannot contact witnesses or co-defendants, must surrender his passport within 48 hours, and is on home confinement. Arnold turned himself in last week and his attorneys have argued the evidence is insufficient. Hours after the hearing, the Detroit Lions released Arnold, who was a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Court documents and posts note co-defendants heard Arnold say victims had stolen from him and that he would confront them; prosecutors say that underlies the charges. The immediate consequence is Arnold's release from the team while criminal proceedings continue and bond conditions restrict his travel and contacts pending trial.
