Naomi Osaka walked onto Centre Court at the All England Club on June 29, 2026 in a custom white, kimono-inspired outfit by Tokyo designer Hana Yagi ahead of her first-round Wimbledon match. The look, described as reimagining the traditional kimono and called "Evolving Ceremony" in posts, used upcycled vintage pieces, elements of a shiromuku bridal gown, and a deconstructed wedding dress and drew comparisons in coverage to the O-Ren Ishii aesthetic from Kill Bill. Osaka wore the outfit with a custom Nike top and skirt and then beat Elsa Jacquemot 6-1, 7-5 in the opener. Nike has already made a 3-D floral version of Osaka’s dress available for purchase and reports say it is selling out before she hit the grass. The appearance reinforced Osaka’s role as a focal point for Wimbledon fashion while leaving her status on court validated by the straight-sets win.
