Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce donated 26 million dollars to about 20 U.S. charities this week, a representative confirmed to the Guardian, in the days before their rumored Madison Square Garden wedding. The named recipients span locations meaningful to the couple, including Nashville, Kansas City and New York City, and include City Harvest, Food Bank For NYC, New York Cares, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters in Kansas City, The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Reading, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Feeding America, ASPCA, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Grammy In The Schools, Education Through Music, Answer The Call and Musical Mentors. A New York City permitting office issued a Special Event at MSG permit showing a 100-guest “pre-party celebration” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and a main event scheduled from 5 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday, with overnight street closures and entrance tents, a spokesperson for Zohran Mamdani said. The couple’s announcement echoes Swift’s past on-tour generosity, such as six-figure bonuses and handwritten letters to her crew at the close of the Eras Tour. Friends and collaborators including Ed Sheeran, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Sabrina Carpenter, and host Graham Norton, were spotted arriving in New York this week; Swift told Norton last year her wedding would be “huge.” Fans noted the 26 million figure as an apparent nod to Swift’s lucky number 13, since 26 is two times 13. The donations direct funds to food banks, music and education programs, animal welfare and children’s initiatives across the listed cities, immediately benefiting those named organizations in Nashville, Kansas City and New York City.
