Jaylen Brown says he feels disrespected by trade to 76ers
Jaylen Brown on reports claiming he thinks he's the smartest person in the room: "No offense to everybody in sports, but the bar is fuckin' low." 😭 #NBA
I'm a Knick fan but I have mad respect for this dude. Freaking 76ers are gonna tear the roof off the East.
He's at least triple as smart as ANYONE in the Celtics front office
JB is a pretty smart guy. The problem with that is how smart ppl tend to rub others the wrong way. Conversations with some ppl become trivial, boring & pointless. It's not an easy existence, which can lead to isolation and alienation.
He is absolutely a very smart man, but these days most of the NBA players are not college graduates. A lot of them are one and done.
That part is true on the bar. Exhibit A: MAGA.
Couldn’t stand this guy as a Philly rival. Think I might love him as a Philly player.
lol man i wish we got this dude instead of potentially landing bron. cal berkeley grads built different 😂
To be fair the system is set up so the rich athletes aren't very smart or independent. They have a shit education and a manager that thinks for them. I imagine Jaylen being in the system knows this very well.
LMAO. Now that yes not a Celtic I can be a fan of this dude. A fantastic quote. The NBA dudes who are unfraid to just say their shit are almost always incredibly successful somewhere else after their careers. 76ers are next up in the first real decade of NBA parody we've ever had.
oop…and that’s how you clear a league lol
Jaylen Brown: "The Process is back the fuck on." "The Process been over, now the Process is back motherfucker."
doesn’t “the process” mean losing a ton on purpose lol
I lost it when he hit the horn at the end
sad its not Portland, but happy hes not a Celtic no more, I can cheer for this goofball
FWA FWA FWA FWA FWA
Same look I had when I heard he said this
lol the jaylen brown discourse has crossed the rubicon. he's an extremely talented albeit flawed and complicated player. nuance is okay. but if you solely use analytics—a word that means nothing—or the eye-test to determine his value, your assessment isn't worth anything to me
This whole situation seems to be a lot more about contracts and personalities than pure hoopin' anyhow.
The old max contract was a good financial deal for owners but it made it too easy for players to form super teams. The new max / apron system is better financially for individual players but it makes it very difficult to keep stars together when they’re in their primes. Brown is 100% caught in that.
His availability and playoff experience are two things that get lost in the debate
don't underestimate the discourse warping effect of getting into a public tiff with ESPN's biggest sports personality like a month before this all started
What about a results test?
It’s why I use neither and do everything based on how much I hate his vibes
