Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere announced the team has tendered a five-year offer sheet to Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson worth an average annual value of $18 million. The Flyers wrote the deal would require four of Philadelphia’s first-round draft picks in each of the next four seasons as compensation if Anaheim declines to match. The Ducks have seven days to exercise their right of first refusal under section 10.3 of the NHL collective bargaining agreement. Carlsson, born December 26, 2004, scored 29 goals and 38 assists for 67 points in 70 regular-season games last year and added 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games as Anaheim reached the Second Round. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound center has 141 points (61 goals, 80 assists) in 201 career regular-season games and was selected second overall in the 2023 NHL Draft. The Flyers said they will have no further comment until Anaheim either matches the offer or accepts draft-pick compensation.
