Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere announced the team has tendered a five-year offer sheet to Anaheim Ducks restricted free agent center Leo Carlsson. The contract carries an average annual value of $18 million and, per the Flyers statement, would require four of Philadelphia's first-round draft picks in each of the next four seasons as compensation. The Anaheim Ducks have seven days to match the offer under section 10.3 of the NHL collective bargaining agreement. Carlsson, born December 26, 2004, scored 29 goals and 38 assists for 67 points in 70 regular-season games last year and added 11 points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games while helping Anaheim reach the Second Round. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound center has 141 points, including 61 goals and 80 assists, in 201 career regular-season games and was selected second overall in the 2023 NHL Draft. The Flyers said they will have no further comment until Anaheim decides whether to match the offer or accept the draft-pick compensation.
