Teoscar Hernández launched a first-pitch, 419-foot go-ahead grand slam off Adrian Morejón in the bottom of the seventh to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres. The slam came after Jake Cronenworth booted what should have been a double play with the bases loaded and no outs; Mookie Betts had been walked and Max Muncy singled earlier in the inning after Michael King started the seventh. Two of the runs were charged to King and two to Morejón. The victory completed a second straight Dodgers comeback against the Padres and extended Los Angeles's National League West lead to 14 games while dropping San Diego to third and lengthening their losing streak to seven. Shohei Ohtani worked six innings, allowed three runs on seven hits with two walks, struck out nine, and reached a season-high 110 pitches as manager Dave Roberts left him in to navigate a jam. The Dodgers recorded just five hits, went 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position, and left five on base but delivered a late rally to flip the score. The clubs return for game three of the four-game series on Saturday night, the Fourth of July.
