Infantino said the two will be together for the final and hand the trophy to the winner, repeating the arrangement they used last year at MetLife for the FIFA Club World Cup final when Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0. The Fox News report notes Trump created a White House Task Force for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and named Andrew Giuliani as its executive director. The article says Trump has not yet attended a World Cup match, and that Secretary of State Marco Rubio attended the United States opener, a 4-1 win over Paraguay on June 12. The piece also recalls that the appearance follows an assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania the previous year, and that Trump received the first FIFA Peace Prize at the Kennedy Center during the World Cup final draw in December.
