Wildcard Arthur Fery upset No. 9 seed Flavio Cobolli 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-0 on Centre Court to reach his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon. The world No. 114 dominated the tight second set tiebreak before closing out a one-sided final set against the French Open runner-up. Fery is the first Wimbledon wildcard to reach the semi-finals since Goran Ivanisevic in 2001. Alexander Zverev, who beat Taylor Fritz in straight sets, is scheduled to face Fery in the semifinal for a place in Sunday’s final. Fery’s run has already substantially increased his 2026 earnings, roughly doubling his year-to-date prize money with his Wimbledon results. The win produced an emphatic Centre Court celebration and extends a surprising British surge in this year’s men’s draw.
