Connor Bedard sidelined after left shoulder surgery, out about 4 months

sportsJul 8, 202625121

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on July 8, 2026 that center Connor Bedard underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder and will miss about four months. Bedard played 69 games in the 2025 season, scoring 30 goals and 45 assists for a team-leading 75 points, an average of more than one point per game. He had been a regular on Chicago’s top line alongside Nick Lardis and Frank Nazar and briefly missed time with an illness in January 2026 before the surgery. The four-month timeline would sideline Bedard through the start of the 2026, 27 season and points toward a return in early-to-mid November. The team called the procedure successful; the absence creates a significant scoring gap for the Blackhawks during the opening months. Fantasy managers and Chicago’s lineup plans will need adjustments while Bedard completes rehabilitation.
