Red Sox stuck in Chicago after plane issues ahead of Mets game

The Boston Red Sox remained stuck in Chicago into Friday afternoon after their Thursday afternoon game against the White Sox, sources said. Multiple plane issues delayed the team until they finally took off around 3 p.m. Eastern. The Red Sox and New York Mets still plan to play the series opener at Citi Field Friday night, but first pitch was moved from 7:15 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. because of the travel problems. Boston enters the game riding a six-game winning streak and having won 11 of 13, a run that began after an earlier travel disruption when the club landed in Boston around 5 a.m. on the day a homestand began.
