Rear Window airs on TCM as part of a Grace Kelly double feature
For a split second, as I scrolled past this, I thought it was Madeline Kahn at the end of Young Frankenstein, and now I would sell a kidney to see Madeline Kahn play Lisa Fremont in a remake of Rear Window. Young Rear Window or something. #TCMParty
"A preview of coming attractions !" #TCMParty
The Mel Brooks remake I didn’t know I needed to see! (I just love his telling of showing the High Anxiety shower scene to Hitch, nearly succumbing to his own anxiety all the while.)
I would have lost it. Still could now, just thinking about this lost opportunity
OMG, so true! What Madeline could have done with these lines... ❤️
Lisa is way too good for this asshat. #RearWindow #TCMParty
I watched this movie many years ago, with the asshat that I was dating at the time, and made that same observation.
Must agree. Love this movie, but the moment Jimmy starts going off on how he can never marry because he is such a wandering he-man of ruggedness, you want to slap him. (Tho to be fair, Lisa in this film is too fabulous for *anyone.*)
I agree. However, that's what makes this movie important and impactful. Lisa starts the movie as an incomplete personality, desparate for approval from Jeffries, who's an incapacitated manchild. As the story evolves, Lisa acquires agency, turning into the real hero when she finds the wedding ring.
Here for the 35th airing of #RearWindow... this year. I guess the lease on ‘To Catch a Thief’ ran out. #TCMParty
During Covid it was North By Northwest and, to be honest, it was a comfort to watch it with #TCMParty over and over again.
They could have aired #TheCountryGirl. I haven't seen that one in a while. #TCMParty
If there was a drinking game involving every airing of "Sunday in New York" during a recent stretch of time I'd be in regular AA meetings
