Paramount to reboot A Nightmare on Elm Street with Wes Craven estate
‘A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET’ remake is in the works at Paramount. The film will adapt Wes Craven's original screenplay again.
"Paramount"? "Another remake of the original"?
Craven’s dead. No way this will be good.
While i'm not against the idea of a remake of this movie, I just hope they don't screw this one up like they did in 2010. Also i'm at least hoping for Robert Englund to return, Either reprising his role, or a little cameo. Either way, Please let this be actually good.
Here's an idea, how about creating something new and original instead of rehashing stuff forever. I'm sure some young filmmaker or writer has something worthwhile. All I see is 'A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET: The Quest For More Money' when these things are announced.
*gentle parenting voice* how about we let a new friend write a script? I bet we’d have fun seeing something new made by a new friend!
Someone please make Peter Jackson's unmade Nightmare6. It had a weak and powerless Freddy tormented by unfrightened teens for kicks, the teens took pills to sleep longer and hurt him more and one overdoses, ending up in a coma in the dream world, letting Freddy turn the tide and regain his strength.
10 reais que vão botar o Jared Leto como Freddy
Num futuro distópico existem apenas 10 filmes que os estúdios fazem de novo e de novo, e culpam o público se a bilheteria fica baixa. Oh wait.
You know who'd be good picks for a fresh take on the Nightmare series? Coralie Fargeat director of The Substance with Cinematographer, Benjamin Kracun.
Today in "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HAVE A NEW IDEA!!!"
This is what happens when you tell kids not to go into the arts and "get a real job". UGH.
No sé si alegrarme o llorar
They know we can just watch the original one, right? Johnny Depp gets killed real bad.
Look, as long as it's good & MUCH better than that piece of shit 2010 remake, I'll happily take it Do I wish we went the Legacy Sequel to the OG series instead? Yeah. But with every other slasher being brought back like Michael Myers, Leatherface, etc., I'm just happy to see Freddy Krueger again
FREDDY'S BACK. A new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie is finally in development... at Paramount! "We look forward to bringing the world of Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street to a new and completely engaged generation of fans." Source: The Hollywood Reporter
I cant even be excited. We saw what Paramount did to Scream I have no faith in them cunts.
My Suggestion for Who should be the New Freddy: Michael Shannon
A big pass on that. Leave all the classic horror franchises alone, enough damage has been done to them already 🙄 Here's an idea: CREATE new boogeymen and come up with new, original stories 😶
Or they could leave it alone
I hope he has TWO gloves in this one!
Paramount? The company about to be sued for anti-trust practices? Maybe they should worry about THAT nightmare first :)
Sorry, but there's no Freddy without Robert Englund. It's like trying to make Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford.
How do you do, fellow completely engaged generation of fans?
Make it an 80s Hair Metal Musical, and I'm in.
nothing says horror like something focus tested to death
Oh man the IP reboot built in audience machine is COLLAPSING huh
the real nightmare is Hollywood never coming up with a single original idea
While I’ve grown to be very open minded rather than cynical when it comes to “reviving” certain horror properties, I just can’t get behind bringing Freddy back. I don’t see it working. You can’t catch lightning in a bottle twice. Paramount destroyed the SCREAM legacy. Just leave it alone.
THIS TIME, FREDDY'S.... THE PRINCIPAL AT YOUR HIGH SCHOOL??? That's right! Freddy is here to discipline you after you missed the exam for the class you didn't ever go to or even have
I'm sure glad i haven't really had any interest in movies for the past few years. Seeing remake after reboot after re-imagining after sequel. It's just. Exhausting. Give us something new instead of betting on nostalgia bait. Lazy execs.
like, besides the obvious problems with it happening at paramount, it kinda sucks that it's not happening at even the Empty Shell Of The House That Freddy Built. like universal losing creature from the black lagoon or something. ugh.
‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ remake is in the works at Paramount It’s adapting Wes Craven's original screenplay (via THR)
They're announcing this today to desperately try to distract from this: bsky.app/profile/agro...
Paramount can FUCK all the way off. It sucks Wes's 2 best properties are owned by them cunts! They screwed Scream now its Freddys turn
Sorry, but you can't top Robert Englund.
Or... you could make something original.
I long for the days when a movie could be more horrifying than what the Trump Regime and ICE are doing every day IRL.
1 - Please don't Fuck It Up like 2010 did 2 - Cast Actual Kids instead of 20+ Year Olds 3 - Please get Michael Shannon (or Even Wilson Bethel) as The New Freddy
Unless you can remake Robert Englund too, no thanks.
Nossa e ainda por cima é remake DENOVO
Pa je človek še včeraj mislil, da je pogledal celo franšizo. (Vzdih.)
I would love to see Freddy come back
Well if Freddy’s back were going to have to send the one man who can take him on in the dream world
Ya hubo un remake y fue horrible 🙃 Espero que salga algo bueno de eso...
We already did this 16 years ago...
There is only 1 Freddy Krueger! The original!
Kinda loosing me at the fact this is a remake, but I guess this is still better than nothing. 🤞Cautiously optimistic🤞
Breaking horror news: Paramount Pictures is producing a new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET film! Get all the details about the new project here.
Meanwhile Paramount is producing “A Nightmare on Pennsylvania Avenue” because they support the DANG CHEETO in the FREAKIN WHITE HOUSE
We’re in a friggin’ renaissance of original indie horror right now. Maybe give the ‘80s slasher reboots a break?
i’ll believe it when i see it, i’ll believe it when i see it, i’ll believe it when i see it…. PLEASE BE REAL DON’T FUCK WITH ME PARAMOUNT
It’s Paramount so Freddy’s victims are going to be woke teens who use pronouns
But will it be good?!
It won't work Robert Englund is Freddy no one else can do it he was too iconic 🖖
Freddie Kreuger is killing kids as a distraction from why they all burnt him up
I will be there opening night no matter what. I liked the 2010 remake and almost all of the previous ones so yeah I'm in.
How did we manage to figure this out before Friday part 13?
I saw this photo and my heart nearly stopped. He's still with us y'all. Also, since this is my favorite horror franchise and it's been proven there's no point without Robert, allow me to offer a "fuck no" and a "fuck you" to Paramount.
A ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ remake is in development at Paramount, THR reports. The film will adapt Wes Craven’s original screenplay.
Freddy Krueger has a new home and he's ready to carve up a new nightmare. Paramount Pictures has closed a deal for the U.S. rights to the original screenplay of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street,' and will adapt it into a new feature. bit.ly/4vsXVOK
Only interested in this if it's helmed by a queer indie director who has sex with the original lead actress in a huge pile of movie concession candy
sure of course this the route that David Ellison has charted to untold success, simply take a script that's already been made into two movies and make a third movie out of it.
O problema de refazer o Freddy é que diferente dos outros ele tá muito atrelado ao ator, não é um mascarado qualquer. Inclusive por isso é um dos melhores.
Strike One: Paramount Pictures Strike Two: straight faced re-adaptation. Guys, Gals and those that lurk betwixt, I'm calling it. This is gonna suck.
*whispers* I really don’t want a new Nightmare on Elm Street but I especially don’t want one from Paramount…
That's how I felt when I saw the news earlier. As soon as I saw it was Paramount the miniscule amount of interest I had at the idea of a new Nightmare on Elm Street completely evaporated.
Being horror fan who grew up with nightmare on elm Street and seeing so many of the horror fans on Blue sky shit all over the franchise I grew up with and loved is really disheartening and I hope you all can do better in the future In other words I hope nobody yucks on your yum later on.
I feel like we're not going to understand how important Robert Englund was to that character until we see a few more very talented actors try to play the part and fall flat on their face. He really knew how to defang the material just enough to make it palatable, and he made it look almost too easy.
Perhaps the latest film can explore the notion that the true Nightmare on Elm Street is the rising cost of housing.
Less than zero chance the movie has a down on their luck family moving into 1428 because it's all they can afford.
I mean if we want to use current events let's do a story about how pedophiles are protected and in power
Mckenzi and Logan Smith buy a house on Elm St. and find out they paid way over value. They rage drive to Palm Springs where the sellers, Larry and Avis, moved to and turn off their CPAP machines and kill them. Avis and Larry return from the dead to exact their revenge.
