Jordan Walker hit a walk-off home run to beat Philadelphia’s Kyle Schwarber 12-11 in the final of the 2026 Home Run Derby at Citizens Bank Park, becoming the first St. Louis Cardinal to win the event. Walker matched Schwarber’s 11 homers in the final, then sent one more into the crowd on his last pitch to clinch the title as Philadelphia fans booed. Walker totaled 31 home runs across the night, slugging 13 in the first round, six in the second to eliminate last year’s runner-up Junior Caminero, and 12 in the final. The Derby returned to its original swing-based format this year, with hitters limited to 20 swings in round one and 15 swings in rounds two and three, and tiebreakers set by distance and three-swing swing-offs. Schwarber reached the final after edging Willson Contreras 9-8 in the second round, while 2018 champion Bryce Harper failed to advance from the opening round with eight homers. Several other big-name sluggers were eliminated early, including Munetaka Murakami, Jac Caglianone, and Ben Rice. Walker’s victory ended the night as a dramatic comeback and the only Cardinals Home Run Derby title in history.
