Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a two-year contract with the option to extend for a further season, the club confirmed. The 35-year-old Wales international left Leeds United after his contract expired at the end of June, having been offered a new deal that he declined. Leeds said Darlow left to pursue an opportunity elsewhere and left with the club's best wishes. Darlow finished last season as Daniel Farke's first-choice keeper and has played 279 club games with 15 international caps. Manchester United expect Darlow to serve as deputy to first-choice Senne Lammens, and with Lammens taking a three-week break after Belgium's World Cup campaign Darlow is set to feature in pre-season, starting against Wrexham in Helsinki on 18 July. The move is likely to trigger the exit of Turkey international Altay Bayindir from Old Trafford, after Bayindir was linked with Besiktas earlier this year. Darlow said he was "extremely proud to sign for Manchester United" and looked forward to pushing the group's standards at the club.
