Portland Timbers thump Seattle Sounders 5-1 in Seattle
The Sounders had over a month to rest up and prepare for this match. The let a coach-less Timbers team that had been struggling beat them 1-5 in their own house. There should be heads rolling after this.
Can one of the heads be Merritt Paulson?
Second time Brian has been beat by an interm coach this season, Sounders have been outscored 8-1 in last 3 games….Roster is a mess, coaching is a mess, FO needs to be cleared out
Ok, but who are they firing to improve things here?
They hate the nice grass Get the grass out of there and see if that helps
We have an interim coach?? But it does go to show everyone how awful Phil Neville is at coaching.
also, lol, one more thing for me to be absolutely insufferable about, now i'm going to get back into following the timbers and the thorns, because portland is the capital of american soccer
Been teaching our son about sportsmanship and how we don’t have to root against the opponent just be positive for our teams except seattle (and UW) fuck the sounders
The Fire game I went to was rocking. Rose city is a sports city.
Definitely go to the match, man, Timbers and Thorns have the muse of the terrace, a match in Portland has most of the good stuff of my early days as a fan in England and none of the really shitty stuff.
Praying that the Caps stay 😢
To me this is awesome. This is mainly because I *loath* the Sounders. lmao. Eat shit, losers.
I was there in the club seats (wife’s employer) below a very loud Timbers Army contingent and smiled when I heard “we are green, we are white, we are fucking dynamite” louder than any home chant had to take the kids home at half and saw a bunch of Flounder fans file out. GUTTED.
The Seattle Sounders just got absolutely smoked by the Portland Timbers in a disastrous 5-1 demolition at Lumen Field in their return to MLS. Was that the worst L in club history? We're about to send out this postgame live, bring all your takes, agendas and grievances www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DRQ...
Worst L we have taken in a long time thats for damn sure. Honestly, dont even wanna think about it anymore. Need to go rewatch USMNT's loss to Belgium or something, to make myself feel less back. MLS isnt back yet.
This roster needs changes like *yesterday*. The academy pipeline can keep the floor up, mostly, but no new blood from outside in years has led to stagnation, complacence, and atrophy. I would rather watch new guys lose 5-1 than watch this garbage.
Yes - that’s the worst loss in the team’s MLS history given ALL the context (at home, first game after World Cup, against our FUCKING RIVALS)
Absolutely the worst loss in club history. Absolutely embarrassing.
