Wizards of the Coast announced Kamigawa: Titanbreach, an Ikoria-Kamigawa crossover set arriving June 4, 2027, in which an Omenpath opens above Towashi and a mass of Ikoria crashes through to unleash titans on Kamigawa. The company describes the set as bombastic and larger in scale than past releases, pairing next-generation mechs from Kamigawa with towering monsters from Ikoria and new mechanics built to match that scale. Kamigawa: Titanbreach is the second Magic Multiverse release of 2027; the year will alternate three Magic Multiverse sets with three Universes Beyond sets and begins with Nauctis: The Sunken Realm on February 5, 2027. Wizards also announced four MagicCons in 2027, including a first MagicCon in Japan, and said it will share additional set details at upcoming events such as Gen Con. Designers and several Wizards staff who worked on the set have posted early creative credits and expressed enthusiasm for the mecha versus kaiju concept.

the (early, general) enthusiasm about kamigawa titanbreach fuels my suspicion that "hat set" is more a cliche people like to repeat than a useful aesthetic judgment. ppl SAY that it's the problem with MKM/OTJ/DFT, but clearly the promise of doing a genre can be really exciting for lots of people
