The Philadelphia Flyers re-signed defenseman Jamie Drysdale to a four-year contract extension carrying a $6.5 million average annual value, the club announced Friday. Drysdale, 24, posted 32 points (eight goals, 24 assists) in 78 games for Philadelphia in 2025-26, second among the team’s defensemen, and had filed for arbitration as a restricted free agent. Drysdale completed a prior three-year, $2.3 million AAV deal originally signed with the Anaheim Ducks and was acquired by the Flyers on January 8, 2024, in the trade for Cutter Gauthier. Over parts of three seasons with Philadelphia he has 57 points (17 goals, 40 assists) in 172 games, and he played in 148 of a possible 164 regular-season games the last two seasons combined. Flyers general manager Danny Briere handed out this extension as his fourth since July 1. Drysdale skated primarily with partner Cam York in a top-four role, logged the third-most power-play ice time on the team despite a club 15.7 percent power-play success rate, and recorded two goals, two assists and 16 shots on goal in his first 10 playoff games. Coach Rick Tocchet said in March that Drysdale needs to improve his shot and that this summer will be important for his development.
