Elon Musk vows Grok will make an AI 'Odyssey'; director slams the plan
Thirty percent of Americans now say it was "inappropriate" to cast Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy. That opinion didn't exist a year ago. Somebody built it. New piece on the campaign against The Odyssey: what it failed to do, and what it actually accomplished. www.readtpa.com/p/where-did-...
And, of course, here's the post on Patreon. Please consider supporting my work there or at the newsletter. Thank you. www.patreon.com/parkermolloy...
30% of America hasn't even read The Odyssey
Personally I think it’s bad that like 30% of the writing on every major media release now is an update on what the racist-who-jacks-off-all-day has to say about it
Dunno. She looks awfully beautiful to me.
Meanwhile, they’ve never read the Odyssey and think it’s factual
ffs, she was in the movie for like 4 minutes. I wish my life was so awesome that I had time to care about such stupid inconsequential things as who gets cast as a likely fictional character in a totally fictional story about giants and witches and gods.
I don't believe for a second that 30% of Americans believe this. Nope. I don't think 30% of Americans give a shit about who got cast in what. What about the vast majority of people who have never participated in a YouGov poll and who wouldn't know where to find one?
Buncha fucking assholes who need to touch grass.
What annoys me the most about all of this bs is how dishonest it is. You want to convince me that it's inappropriate to cast a black woman as Greek but it's fine that most of the cast is so pale that they look like they don't even belong in the Mediterranean? Get the fuck outta my face!
30% of Americans would happily kick a puppy through a baby’s chest if their god/king told them to
Helen of Troy, a woman who hatched out of an egg cause Zeus had sex with her mother in swan form is perfectly accepted by 30% of Americans, but not the fact that she’s Black in a movie? Even though Lupita Nyong’o is stunningly gorgeous, which is what Helen of Troy is famous for? Does not compute.
Public opinion is and can be shaped!!! Proof number 9,578
She is in 15 minutes of a 3 hour movie.
So... about the percentage that STILL support what Trump is doing? That's not a surprise. Racists gonna racism.
30% of Americans are more racist than they were last year!
the most exhausting thing about all this helen of troy drama is that the character has like 15 minutes of screentime in a 3 hour movie and most of it is as an out of focus background character
Elon Musk is an unwelcome parasite in this country and he's too arrogant to see his way out. Evict. Convict.
The Chuds: We’re gonna make our own Ai Odyssey, with white blackjacks and white hookers! My brother from another mother: variety.com/2026/film/ne...
I miss when we only had The Asylum to make knockoff movies. At least they used living people and cameras.
And he could have easily spent his riches learning to appreciate and create art, but he chose to become the world's most insecure, most edgy billionaire instead. Sad.
You gots good peoples about you Cargill
I didn't know Odysseus was that upset about white genocide in south africa...
When a whipsmart top-tier Hollywood horror writer-director comes at you this hard, only smart play is to pack it in. Which is why Musky won’t do it.
Just soo fucking creepy innit?
"Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer."
Homer was blind. A "historically accurate" Odyssey would be an audiobook in Ancient Greek.
But Helen was supposed to be beautiful, a face that launched a thousand ships. That is a unit of measurement known as a "Helen." A milli-Helen is the amount of beauty needed to launch a single ship, and I believe we are looking at around 40 micro-Helens here.
Ooooooo do Lord of the Rings next
They should spell her name HO'LEN.
Imagine how much money he is paying her to stick it out through 2.0!
The Face That Launched 1,000 Shits
If you bought stock in any of Elon Musk's companies I am laughing directly at you. Imagine believing you can create a historically accurate fiction. It's fiction from 3,000 years ago.
I simply can't wait to see Elon Musk's "historically accurate" version of Polyphemus the cyclops.
Can somebody tell me about a time this absolute dipshit ketamine addict is actually delivered on something he said he was going to do?
Homer was blind. A "historically accurate" Oddyssey would be an audiobook in ancient Greek. 🤷♂️
Everything #ElonMusk touches seems to fail. How could he destroy what was once the global town square, Twitter? At least we have #Bluesky. He’s ruining Tesla. The cars weren’t very nice, but they were good for the environment. And if you invested your hard-earned money in #SpaceX, O my goodness.
I've been very disappointed that as much publicity they get, I have yet to see or read an "historically accurate" account of any of these men:
As a high school student, I was one of hundreds that hated the Odyssey with the visceral passion. A work of FICTION. How could this EVER be historically accurate, Elon? What a plank.
The Odyssey 🤝 Dead End: Paranormal Park Giving Elon Musk an aneurism
They also both have "being very good" in common. But giving Apartheid Clyde a meltdown is a great sign of quality in general.
Wait, he actually took note of Paranormal Park, AND had a freakout about it? Bravo!
Hamish Steele could make an amazing Odyssey, I would never trust Christopher Nolan to make Dead End: Paranormal Park
Really excited for Grok to make the historically accurate version of The Faerie Queen next. Followed by the historically accurate version of Star Wars. variety.com/2026/film/gl...
And you just know the Grok historically accurate version of Lord of The Rings will be coming to a monitor near you, next.
I'm hoping for a historically accurate Planet of the Apes
Historically accurate SpongeBob SquarePants when
I’m so tired of newspapers and magazines doing PR for rich people. Musk is such a fabulist at this point, yet they keep printing his words like it’s fact.
« Historically accurate », you mean not in English maybe?
The ai image he used to promote it didn’t even have historically accurate armor
We also need a historically accurate depiction of Romulus and Remus nursing from the gentle she-wolf.
Let's also not forget to ask for the historically accurate version of The Jetsons!
Thor is ready for a historically accurate telling
Losing it that in his awful AI proof of concept, Musk's GROK ODYSSEY includes a brief shot of Hermes who is straight up a Biblical Christian Angel Hermes, whose iconic trait is having little wings that are on his sandals. It's just Christofacism all the way down with these chuds.
Really cool Caduceus they got there, love it not having either of the really distinct characteristics of its design that everyone knows
Really hitting every version of "historically accurate", apparently
*Pats datacenter* You can fit SO MUCH fascist imagery in this thing.
Elon is all mad about the casting in Nolan’s blockbuster The Odyssey, so now he’s promising Grok Imagine will pump out a “historically accurate” AI version by year’s end. What a joke. An AI film from the guy still seething that Lupita Nyong’o played Helen of Troy. www.theguardian.com/film/2026/ju...
Someone tell Musk that Helen of Troy is a mythical figure from Homer, not a historical person with one fixed ethnicity. She’s been portrayed by women of many different backgrounds in art, theater, & film for centuries. There’s no single “accurate” look for a character who never actually existed.
Yeah, his AI version should be out about the time he lands on Mars or makes an autopilot Electric car that doesn't kill people.
I want to know who or what did this man baby do to actually “earn” and/or have billions of dollars! Like WTF!!!!!?!?!? Historical accuracy of multi headed monsters and cyclops?!????!
How would Elon even know when he likely burned “The Odyssey” before he had to read it.
We really should stop paying attention to the spoiled brat. It’s the only attention he gets these days and he is so fucking oblivious.
It will probably be fun to pick it apart, like if we see a character in a crowd scene talking on a cell phone or wearing cargo shorts.
"noted" filmmaker ELON MUSK 🤣 is so MAD at THE ODYSSEY's commercial success & HATES that christopher nolan casted a trans actor & chose a black actress to play helen of troy that he's going to use GROK AI to make "his" version now? 🤣 #blues variety.com/2026/film/gl...
Isn’t The Odyssey fundamentally a work of fiction/mythology? It’s an ancient Greek epic poem (attributed to Homer, composed around the 8th century BCE) full of gods, monsters, magic, and fantastical adventures. It’s not a historical chronicle or documentary. Smh 🙈 #Blues
elon is such an ass
I can't wait to not watch it.
