The Rings of Power Season 3 trailer, Simon Pegg cast as Balrog

Prime Video debuted a Season 3 teaser for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power at San Diego Comic-Con that includes a scene of Sauron creating the One Ring. The streamer also announced Simon Pegg will voice the Balrog in season 3. Daniel Weyman, who plays Gandalf, told the SDCC panel the character "has arrived" after spending time with Tom Bombadil and will be "in his power" this season. Weyman said Gandalf has been learning from Bombadil, is gaining agency, and will try to "rewarm" people whose hearts have been chilled as darkness rises. Prime Video set the season 3 release for November 11, 2026. The trailer and casting signal the series will directly pursue Sauron’s forging of the ring and escalate Gandalf’s active role in opposing that threat.
