At San Diego Comic Con AMC confirmed a fourth season of The Vampire Lestat and debuted a teaser retitling the next run Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned. AMC named writer and executive producer Hannah Moscovitch as the series’ new showrunner while Rolin Jones will remain an executive producer. The SDCC Hall H panel included Sheila Atim, Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, and Eric Bogosian, and Mark Johnson announced the renewal onstage. Rolin Jones was absent from the panel because he is tied up with AMC’s The Grapes of Wrath, and lead actor Sam Reid did not attend while starring in a stage production of Doubt. The panelors asked the crowd to cheer for Sam Reid in his absence and the Comic Con teaser confirmed the season title change to Queen of the Damned.
