2026 Eisner Award winners announced at SDCC

San Diego Comic-Con announced the 2026 Will Eisner Comic Award winners in a ceremony at SDCC, publishing a complete winners list. DC-led projects took home a large share, with reports saying DC won 10 Eisners and specific titles named among winners including Absolute Batman Annual and DC Pride. The Cartoonists Club was also listed as a winner. The Eisner Hall of Fame inducted Jeff Smith, Colleen Doran, Chris Ware and Akira Toriyama. Best Graphic Memoir went to It Rhymes with Takei by George Takei, Harmony Becker, Steven Scott, and Justin Eisinger. Assorted Crisis Events won Best New Series. Purgatory Funeral Cakes won Best U.S. Edition of International Material, Asia.

That he wasn't inducted while he was STILL ALIVE was a gross mistake on their behalf, but better late then never, I guess. Takahashi and Toriyama are long must-haves for the Eisners, and I think Naoko Takeuchi ought to be on that short-list too.
