Marvel Studios announced at San Diego Comic-Con Hall H that Ryan Gosling will star as Ghost Rider in an MCU feature directed by Shawn Levy. Levy, identified in coverage as the director behind Deadpool and Wolverine, will reunite with Gosling for the supernatural superhero film. GamesRadar noted the casting came as a surprise during the SDCC presentation and headlined the reveal with the line "His job is bike." Gosling's casting was presented as the Johnny Blaze incarnation of Ghost Rider, and the film is scheduled to reach theaters in 2028. Gosling responded onstage with an excited remark, saying "Is this really happening?... As you know, this is a character I've wanted to play for a very long time ... Thank you."
