Tadej Pogačar clinched a record‑equalling fifth Tour de France title after an emphatic performance that included daring mountain attacks, multiple stage wins and an ice‑cool temperament. The 27‑year‑old Slovenian finished 6 minutes, 26 seconds ahead of Belgian Remco Evenepoel in the overall standings, with UAE Team Emirates XRG debutant Isaac Del Toro third at 9:42 back. Jonas Vingegaard, Pogacar’s main rival, crashed out on stage 15 and did not finish. Pogacar won five stages in this edition, bringing his career total to 26 Tour stage victories, and celebrated on the Champs‑Élysées with teammates after the final sprint was taken by Mathieu van der Poel. Race organisers shortened Stage 21 from 133 kilometers to 88.7 kilometers and moved its start from Thoiry to Paris to reduce pressure on emergency services responding to nearby wildfires; the stage still featured three ascents of Montmartre before finishing on the Champs‑Élysées. Richard Carapaz secured the polka‑dot jersey for best climber and Mads Pedersen won the green jersey for best sprinter. Pogacar said he was "speechless" and that he now needs to find a new goal, while noting hope that riders who crashed can compete again next year.

I know all the prizes are already decided before it, but the post-Olympics final day Tour de France route over the Côte de la Butte Montmartre is really one of the greatest sporting spectacles in the world. And for the Yellow Jersey and others to put on such a show after thousands of km is amazing.
