Draymond Green re-signs with Golden State Warriors

sportsJul 28, 202616249

Draymond Green agreed to return to the Golden State Warriors on a one-year deal worth $27.7 million, ESPN reported via Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul. The contract matches the $27,678,571 player option Green previously declined to give the Warriors roster flexibility while they chased LeBron James. Green’s new deal was finalized Tuesday and will push Golden State just over the first luxury apron and leave the team about $12.4 million under the second apron, league-figure calculations show. The signing moves Green onto the list of players who have reached $250 million in guaranteed career earnings, a group he joins as the only member to average fewer than 10 points per game. One roster spot the Warriors must still fill is expected to go to De'Anthony Melton, according to reporting tied to the transaction.
