Only 25 U.S. cinemas will show The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm

Only 25 U.S. cinemas will screen Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm, meaning most American viewers cannot see the film in the format Nolan shot it for. The Odyssey was filmed fully in 70mm IMAX, but most IMAX 70mm projectors are rare, mechanically complex machines kept at a small number of venues. That scarcity has pushed some screenings to sell out well in advance and prompted reports that devoted fans may travel 500 miles or more to find a 70mm show. The film remains a major box-office hit and critical success, earning a 94 percent Rotten Tomatoes score and more than $650 million globally in its first two weekends. With only a few dozen 70mm-capable sites, many repeat viewers and those seeking the director’s intended experience will be limited to weekend-long runs or special engagements at specific theaters.

Projection so powerful, you could screen the Odyssey in 70MM IMAX from it.

The main post is by J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling), featuring a blue verified checkmark. Her text reads:
"I don’t care about individuals. I do care that a former champion of human rights has become what it was created to fight. It no longer champions freedom of speech and belief. It has become the tyrant that persecutes those who don’t espouse what it decrees acceptable beliefs."
Below this, she quotes a post by Bladesman77 (@Bladesman77) from 10 minutes prior. The quoted text reads:
"Even if it costs Amnesty a fortune in damages & legal costs, the TRAs who run it will probably face no personal consequences. They may be happy to virtue signal to the trans community with the charity's money. They'd probably also not then change their views or behaviour either."
At the bottom of the screenshot, the timestamp for J.K. Rowling's post reads:

one of the most frustrating things about what Rowling has turned into is how hard it is to explain to offline people that she’s not just another author who has turned out to have shitty views - her entire life and fortune is dedicated to destroying trans people

you know I think she knows exactly what she's doing, she knows it is cruel that's why she deliberately twists the knife every chance she gets. v she wants to hurt people. to hurt *us*

Lexi "Alexandria W. Darling" Darling26

stating that organizations who are objectively taking action against trans people's rights to safety, healthcare, personal privacy and bodily autonomy are anti-trans rights organizations is not "persecution" nor is it suppressing your free speech. you absolute whiny baby.

So, apparently Rowling is in a dispute with Amnesty International because they had the temerity to call her (in a since-retracted report) "anti-trans"... And, like, isn't that literally her whole point to life now?

Every day JKR comes up with a new reason why she should be stripped of all her wealth and power and live in a box.

"I don't care about individuals." Yes Joanne, we know. That's the problem.

Meanwhile, she wants to sue charities for expressing their own freedom of speech. It’s telling so many of the same reactions using “free speech” as a guise to express regressive and hate, now buck at the idea and clutch pearls over the same right they were bemoan.

Other @ec.europa.eu countries should file charges of human rights abuses, & incitement of human rights abuses against Rowling for her diseased fascist hate-speech & her direct funding, & other actions in service of crimes against humanity. She's a filthy & human bigot. Put this Nazi thing in a cage.

Stuart Laidler5

She’s right in that Amnesty isn’t a champion of free speech & belief right now, but not it the way she thinks. Until they come out swinging at this evil, demented piece of shit, they’ve no right to call themselves a human rights organisation.

The fact Joanne is Mein Kampf posting about Amnesty International is something we all need to make an effort to get people to understand. She is the UK’s Elon Musk.
