Trading for Luis Castillo signaled a seriousness about winning that was extremely welcome from the Mariners. It's not right to say that trading him away signals an end to that seriousness - he's not 2022 Castillo, and this team isn't very good - but it would be nice to see that energy matched.

I don’t think we can overstate what having a veteran guy like Luis Castillo did for the other guys in our rotation. He was around while all of these guys were young and at least relatively new. I will always love him for that, too.
