Aaron Donald, 35, worked out at the Los Angeles Rams training camp on Wednesday as he considers coming out of retirement, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. Donald has not played since the 2023 season, when he recorded 53 tackles, 23 quarterback hits, 16 tackles for loss and eight sacks across 16 games. The workout follows the Rams' June 2 trade for pass-rusher Myles Garrett and the offseason addition of cornerback Trent McDuffie to a team that reached last season's NFC Championship Game. Donald told ESPN's Pat McAfee that the Garrett trade made him start thinking about returning, and TMZ Sports later spotted him doing individual drills at the Rams facility. On July 16 NFL Network's Ian Rapoport quoted Donald as saying he "does not really know himself" if he will end his retirement and planned to get into football shape before deciding. Rams coach Sean McVay said things are "going in the right direction" and that any timeline discussions were being kept internal out of respect for Donald. A decision to rejoin the Rams would provide an immediate veteran boost to Los Angeles' pass rush and depth up front for the 2026 season.
