NBA announces 2026 NBA Cup group play schedule

The NBA announced each team’s four group stage games for the 2026 NBA Cup on Wednesday, and confirmed those Cup games will count toward regular-season standings. The Sixers’ Eastern Conference Group B slate opens at the New York Knicks on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden. Philadelphia went 7-8 last regular season against its group opponents and has not advanced past the NBA Cup group stage in the tournament’s previous three years; the article notes the team also has former In-Season Tournament MVP LeBron James on its roster. Eight teams will reach the Cup quarterfinals: every group winner plus the top second-place finisher from each conference, with quarterfinals scheduled for Dec. 4 and Dec. 5. Semifinals are slated for Dec. 8 and/or Dec. 9 and the NBA Cup title game will be played on Dec. 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The NBA will release the full 2026-27 season schedule on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
