Olivia Miles scored 20 points, had seven assists and five rebounds before exiting midway through the fourth quarter with a left ankle injury as the Minnesota Lynx beat the Golden State Valkyries 77-66 on Wednesday in San Francisco. Miles shot 8 of 10 from the field and turned her ankle after stepping on teammate Napheesa Collier’s foot; she limped to the locker room briefly and returned to the bench area. Kayla McBride also scored 20 and Napheesa Collier had 18 points and eight rebounds as the league-best Lynx improved to 30-7 and have won five straight and 15 of 16. Veronica Burton led the Valkyries with 14 points and seven assists in the loss that snapped Golden State’s six-game winning streak and left them 25-10. The Valkyries shot 7 for 37 from three-point range and managed only a 41-26 halftime deficit before Minnesota held on late; Kaila Charles left with an eye injury in the fourth. Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said postgame Miles “tweaked” her ankle and that she had not yet seen the play, leaving the team’s status for upcoming games uncertain. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced the arena will host the 2027 All-Star Game at Chase Center.
